About Us

About David
During the working week I can be found pushing spreadsheets and models around the Finance department of a multinational bank, sharing the spoils of my weekend and trying to outdo all the other bankers.  When Saturday rolls around (if I'm not at the football) I can sometimes be found in the kitchen baking, cooking, and making proper wholesome food and desserts.

Food wise I like things that aren't too fancy, it's unlikely I'll ever make a croquembouche or decorate a miniature gingerbread skyscraper with a piping bag, you'll find me making things that are simple and effective to make in bulk!  Pleasing the masses and factoring up ingredients by 4 is what you'll find me doing.

About Katie

I am a GP on Anglesey by day and in my spare time I like to make and bake! I started in 2010 after meeting a new friend who inspired me to try and make things I never dreamt I could and since then I have never looked back. Unlike my brother you will, (one day), find me constructing a croquembouche or taking on some mammoth technical thing. I hoped to catalogue my journey through bakery and the people I meet on the way, also to use it as a family album/recipe book to reflect on in the future.

I think making and baking brings you closer to others. Making something for someone feels so much more meaningful in a world where everything seems so mass produced and disposable. This blog has also caused me to take up photography and that is becoming a journey in itself! So you see baking can open so may doors!

About Our Blog
Our blog is the brainchild of my Katie, who bakes more than David, and was partly inspired by some of her friends having baking blogs of their own.  David looks after anything that is technical (having a computer science background) and should we ever achieve success in the blogosphere he'll be the one sorting domain names and databases.

Should you wish to exchange links with us, chat to us, or feature as a guest blogger on Lloyd's Kitchen please leave us a note below.
